Meet Kara!
“Apart from me, you can do nothing” (Jn 15:5). Christ’s words are at the heart of my ministry, because I could not do any of this without him!
I’ve been serving in Catholic ministry for over ten years, and I still love it as much as when I began. Along the way, I’ve worked in youth and adult faith formation, diocesan ministry, mentorships, and OCIA. I now co-host the Draw Near podcast with my best friend. We aim to create a space for real conversations about faith, life, and friendship. I also helped launch Small Ember, a nonprofit that helps lay people grow in holiness and mission through community and spiritual apprenticeship.
With degrees in Business and Communications, and a Master’s in Theology from the Augustine Institute, my passion is found in sharing Truth with the world (Jn 14:6). Whether I’m speaking at an event, teaching a class, writing new spiritual resources, or walking one-on-one with someone, I love helping people “draw near” to God and to others.
My ministry continues in my vocation as a wife and mom to four amazing kids. They keep me laughing, praying for patience, and constantly aware that holiness often happens in the hidden daily life.
